Hello! My name is Kim Catt. I reside in Kokomo with my husband, Jeff. Together we have raised three sons, gained three daughter-in-laws, and been blessed with 4 grandchildren. I have been a driving instructor since 2012 both riding shotgun in the cars and standing in front of the classroom. I have a passion for teaching the skills of driving and especially enjoy helping students gain the knowledge of the rules of the road. I am happy to have recently joined the team at Safety Zone Driving Academy as office Manager, Classroom Teacher, and Instructor. In my free time, I enjoy flea markets, where I sell homemade arts and crafts and camping with friends and family.

My Name is Lester Beachy.  I live on a farm northeast of Kokomo.  I have lived here most of my life.  My wife is Lori and we have been married for 39 years.  We have seven children and six grandchildren.  I have been driving vehicles of one kind or another since I was 8 years old (tractors, loaders, cars , trucks)  I received my Driver's Education Instructor credentials from Indiana State University in 2010.  I enjoy meeting students from various backgrounds, helping them to understand the skills of driving.

Hello, my name is Brad Burkalter. I reside in Kokomo, Indiana along with my wife Melissa, and our two sons A.J. and Bryan. After graduating from Indiana University in 1996, I accepted a teaching position within the Northwestern School Corporation. Currently, I am a Sixth Grade Teacher at Howard Elementary School. I completed my Driver’s Education Teaching Endorsement at Indiana State University and have loved teaching students how to drive since 2003.

Hello, my name is Jeff Catt. I reside in Howard County with my wife, Kim. Together we raised three sons and have 4 grandchildren. I retired from the Kokomo Police Department after 32 years of service. I am currently employed with Ivy Tech Community College as the Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Lead for the Kokomo Service Area. I became a driving education instructor in 2019. I have a passion for teaching and love working with the student and adult drivers learning to drive. It’s true for me as it pertains to being a driving instructor the old saying, “when you find a job you enjoy doing, you’ll never have to work a day in your life”.

Bart Miller has been a dedicated Driver’s Education instructor since 2007. He teaches PE and Health at Western School Corporations, where he has been for the past 18 years. He has over 25 years of high school coaching experience, coaching both boys’ and girls’ sports. Bart is happily married with two kids.

Gary has been a driver’s education instructor since 2013. Gary retired from the insurance industry where he worked as a Regional Risk Control Consultant. Gary is a charter member of the Northwestern High School Athletic Hall of Fame and a member of the Howard County Sports Hall of Fame for his Track and Cross-Country accomplishments at Northwestern High School and the University of Illinois. Gary is married to Nancy who is also a driver’s education instructor.

Nancy has been a driver’s education instructor since 2013. She retired from teaching and coaching at Northwestern School Corporation. Nancy spends time with her family, traveling and playing pickleball. She enjoys reconnecting with former students through driver’s education. Nancy is married to Gary who is also an instructor.

Rachel is a Logansport graduate, a pre-school teacher, and an Ivy Tech graduate. She previously worked in the mental health field for almost 10 years before taking a 4 year break and working at Tyson. Rachel is currently a pre-school teacher of the 2 1/2  year old room. In her free time, she loves spending time with her big blended family. She looks forward to helping students in the community feel comfortable and knowledgeable behind the wheel!
